Islamization or Fulanization in Nigeria.

Christians spread the gospel of Christ. They proselyte, evangelize and preach.

Islam historically spread through Jihad and forceful conversion. This assertion is subject to debate. But history is resplendent of instances when Muslims pursue spiritual or political goal via Jihad, with the attendant loss of lives, conquest and enslavement of captives.

The coinage of the contemporary development in Nigeria as Islamization can be accommodated in the light of the historical background and the fanatical approach to islamic religion as evident in Fulani jihadist lifestyle.
Many non fulani muslims feel injured when the christian community alleges fulanization and islamization of the geographical space. They are quick to claim that Islam preaches peace. Yet the bandits, boko haramists, etc, are proud muslims who gleefully decimate a fellow mortal, Christian or muslin, calling the name of Allah.

The fear of the Christian community is not misplaced, if the antecedents are to go by.

The moderate muslims who gets injured, emotionally, when the devilish muslims perpetrate evil and are excoriated appropriately, linking them and their religion to the dastardly act, can be safely charged with the vice of acquiescence This is moreso as they rise in stout defense of the faith rather than condemning the criminal who operated under the guise of religion.

Tyranny flourishes on a ground rich in muteness. Where the criminals appear accepted by fellow muslims, the impetus to wallow in criminality remains boundless.

The Nigerian space is under seige. The daily blood letting, kidnappings and apprehension in the land, attest to this. A clan of itinerant herders, Fulani, has been fingered. Fulanis are essentially muslims. Their progenitor, Othman Danfodio was recorded in history as waging a jihad war which led to conquest and toppling of existing political leadership, in some parts of Nigeria, and installing Emirs in their place. The christian community is agitated and drums of war can be heard all over the nation. The latest seige seems to be attempt to conclude the unfinished work begun by Othman Dan Fodio.

The time is ripe for all lovers of freedom, peace and progress to speak, in unison, against the siege, and condemn the criminality. The practice of acquiescence gives the practitioner away as an accomplice, and such practice must stop. Whoever kills, the Innocent, in the name of Allah has no regard for peace. He who forcefully grabs another person’s land in the name of Allah is not beneficent neither is he merciful.
Let all lovers of peace in the land be focused and rise up against the criminality currently tagged islamization and fulanization.
